Fun Family Activities in California

Pescadero, California Family Activities

This summer has had me looking for fun family activities in California to do with all my littles. If you’re anything like me, you love a good trip to the beach without the crowds. This is why we love visiting Pescadero, California! It’s such a great quiet place to take the family with plenty of options for fun activities and great California Coast food and beverages.

Fun at the Beach

We love to take the kids to the beach and let them get out all of their wiggles after the drive from the Central Valley.  There are a few beaches in the area to choose from, but we usually stick with Pescadero State Beach since it is so close to town. Their is a parking lot close to the beach and accessible off the main road, making it easy to unload with the kids.

Fun on the Farm

Another fun thing we love to do when we visit Pescadero is head to the Harley Goat Farms. I mean who doesn’t love baby goats? Am I right?  Not to mention the super cute gift shop filled with award winning goat cheese, olive oils and beautiful soaps you will definitely want to try. They also carry apparel to remember your visit.

On the farm there is an area where you can view all the baby goats and mama goats, with washing stations to keep hands clean. My kids and I love seeing all the cute baby goats and even the farm doggies.

Delicious Eats at the Bakery

After a visit to the farm you can head into town for artisan sandwiches from the local bakery shop. I always get the chicken pesto sandwich and it’s absolutely delicious. My kids love their turkey sandwiches, like most kids. They offer a variety of freshly made specialty sandwiches crafted with their signature baked breads, or a build your own option. Sorry, the avo is extra!

Norm’s Market
The bakery, Norm’s Market, is located in the back of Arcangeli Grocery and boasts outdoor seating directly behind the grocer’s. Snag some of their famous Artichoke Bread before you leave!

Vintage Vibes at the Coffee Shop

On your way out of Pescadero, don’t forget to stop at the coffee shop! Downtown Local serves Sightglass Coffee with some extra cool vintage vibes. You’ll see everything from vintage motorcycles, to vintage vinyls, paired with a delicious latte.  Visiting a local coffee shop is the best way to prepare yourself for the drive home, or at least my favorite way! I would recommend snagging outdoor seating or taking a walk if you’re parenting toddlers, as their is a lot of “no touch” items accessible.

Pescadero certainly has a lot to offer for California families looking for fun activities. If you love small town vibes, sandy toes and baby goats, then you need to plan your visit now. You can also follow me on Instagram for more family fun inspiration.
